George Jinwoo Choe (b. July 2, 1972, d. March 11, 2023) George was born in Seoul, Korea on July 2, 1972. He was the youngest child in his family. His elder siblings are Samuel and Sandy. He immigrated to Los Angeles area when he was 10 along with his family. During his teen years, he was baptized at the Los Feliz United Methodist Church. After he graduated from his High School, he joined the U.S. Army. (Among other places, he was stationed at the Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, and also completed a tour of duty in Korea.) After the Army, he joined the family retail business in which he managed purchasing, receiving, and stocking of a wide array of consumable products. His primary professional career was with the City of Los Angeles – Department of Water & Power, where he worked for the last 18 years. George was passionate about riding his motorcycle, Yamaha V-Star 950. (He inherited this passion from his father who was an avid rider.) His other passions included cooking. (He was a designated Grill Chef for all family gatherings.) He was an excellent craftsman who enjoyed making things by hand that required great attention to detail and care. He loved music. He played bass guitar and was very fond of karaoke singing. He was an enthusiastic sports fan, particularly for the LA Dodgers. Above all, George was a kindhearted and loving person who cared for others. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends for his generous and helpful spirit. George passed away peacefully on March 11, 2023 at the Loving Arms Residential Care in Norwalk, California. His Memorial Service will be held at a later time.See more See Less
