Duc Thu Hoang

It is with great sadness that the family of Hoang Thu Duc announce his passing at the age of 93. After a few months of fighting to hold on for his family, Duc peacefully passed on March 12th, 2023. Duc was a devoted husband to his wife, Pham Thi Loc, of 67 years, and was a loving father to his 6 children. Duc was born in Vietnam on September 3, 1929. His father, Hoang Chan Thai, and his mother, Chau Kim Lien, were from Guangxi, China. He was the 9th child of 15 children. He was predeceased by his mother, his father, all his siblings, and his eldest son. When he was a teenager he got into an accident, which caused him limited mobility. But that did not stop him from becoming an entrepreneur and raising 6 children. He was a hard working person. He loved music; he played electric keyboard and was the accordion player in his brotherhood band. Aside from his love for music, and his devotion to family, he loved nothing more than spending time with his brothers, sister, and telling stories about his great family empire. Duc was also known as a generous person to his relatives and friends. He was always there to support those around him. He cared for his nieces and nephews when needed. Duc is survived by his wife and five children. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. In the memory of Duc and as an alternative to flowers, donations can be made to the causes that were close to him: The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) and The American Lung Association.
