Anna Schilz

Longtime Arcadia resident Anka died on May 24, 2023 at the age of 89. She was born in Gomirje, Croatia. She arrived in the United States in 1956 with her husband, daughter and mother in-law. They lived in Chicago until 1966 when they moved to California to escape the cold and snow. She owned and operated Town and Country Hairdresser Salon in Arcadia until retirement. She loved to bowl at the lanes across the street from her salon and play cards. She loved to vacation in Palm Springs and Las Vegas to play the slot machines. Anka truly embraced life and she passed that passion to her children. She is survived by her two sons Jerry and Larry. Jerry is married to Staci, three kids Tim, Rachel, and Matt, along with four grandkids on Jerry side. She had three granddaughters from Larry side of the family. She will be buried at Rose Hills in Whittier, CA next to her first husband Stefan, daughter Lori and mother in-law Marie.
