Robert Eugene Oesch

Robert (Bob) E. Oesch, of Lisbon, OH passed away quietly and in peace on Wednesday, July 28th, at the age of 93. Bob was born to parents Herbert and Goldie (nee Witherspoon) Oesch on May 30, 1928, in Alliance OH. He attended Alliance High School. Through a cousin he met the love of his life and wife of 69 years, Pat Oesch (nee Arter) originally from Lisbon, OH. Pat preceded Bob to heaven in March of 2019. Bob was proud of getting the start to his working career at Sears in Alliance, OH where he started out sweeping floors. He was promoted to work in the automotive department and. in a few short years he was managing the paint and building supplies department. Through a friend he had the opportunity to be introduced to the hiring team at Morgans Engineering in Alliance. He was always proud of the fact that, after testing, they recommended he join them to be trained as an electrical draftsman. He attended the University of Akron earning his Associates degree in electronic technology. He spent most of his working life at Morgan Engineering. Bob was a loving husband and father. He led a life of simplicity, integrity, honor, spirituality, and kindness. He adored Pat, his daughters, and his grandchildren and always found ways to offer gentle guidance throughout his life. Bob and Pat found their Guildford Lake retreat first at Clewell’s landing, and then their lakefront home upon retirement. They enjoyed socializing with neighbors, entertaining on their deck and making homemade wine. Bob was affectionately known as “Mr. Fix-It” by his family. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Dawn M. Gerz of Pittsburgh, PA, two grandchildren Jason Gerz and Jada Gerz, Dawn’s husband Art Sobczak, and son-in-law Randy Krause. He is further survived by dear friend Kay Ryan of East Liverpool, OH. Bob is preceded in death by his wife Pat, his daughter Melodie, his parents, and his sister Virginia. In keeping with his low-key lifestyle, Bob was cremated. He simply wanted to join Pat on the fireplace mantel. Family, friends, and Guilford Lake neighbors are invited to attend a lunch and celebration of his life on the back deck of Bob’s home at 33189 Votaw Blvd., Lisbon, OH on Saturday, August 21, 2021, between the hours of noon and 2 pm. The family is grateful for condolences.
