Gisela Eleonore Shepps 10/21/1929 – 12/18/2020 Gisela Eleonore Shepps, a resident of Bedford, Pa., formally of Warriors Mark, Shirleysburg and Lancaster, PA. passed away early on the morning of December 18, 2020. She was 91. She was born October 21, 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany, daughter of the late Bernhard Calow and Freida (Huppman) Calow. On September 19, 1952, she married John William Shepps, in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. After moving to Pa she became a US citizen in 1957. She is survived by three sons, John Richard, Randolph Edward, David Chester, a daughter, Deborah Ann Sheidy, eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John William, her father and mother, Bernard and Freida, a brother, Theodor Kasper and a son, Ronald Calow. Gisela was an avid sewer, cook, gardener and painter and had her own business, Rainbow Folk Art, from where she sold and taught her painting. She achieved juried status as a member of the Pa and Blair Co Guild of Craftsmen in folk art, decorative painting, wheat weaving and iconography and had some of her items displayed in the Smithsonian Institute. A private family burial service will be held at Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster,PA.
