Mrs. Susan Ann McCoy

On Thursday, March 25, 2021, Susan Ann (Jones) McCoy, loving mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 82 with her two daughters and son-in-law by her side.

Susan was born February 25, 1939 in Harrisburg, PA to the late Susan L Eichelberger. She graduated from West Shore High School in 1957. Susan loved getting together with her high school friends to reminisce about life in the 50’s. She enjoyed playing cards, watching and going to the movies, camping and boating. Susan was an avid sewer often making clothes for herself and both of her daughters as well as making doll clothes for her daughters’ barbies. She was also a knitter and once retired she enjoyed knitting prayer shawls with the women of the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a lifelong member.

Susan held many jobs over her lifetime, beginning at Bowman’s Department Store in Harrisburg. She worked in mortgage banking and became a 21st Century realtor for a short time. Susan also spent many years working as a legal secretary at several local law firms from which she eventually retired from John Eakin’s Law Office.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, R Steven McCoy whom she met on a blind date and married within six weeks. She is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie Jacobs (Chris) of Dillsburg, Jennifer Smith (Tom) of Mechanicsburg; three grandchildren, Emma and Matthew Jacobs, and Thomas Smith. She is also survived by her half-brother, James H Black of North Carolina; three nieces, one nephew, six grandnieces and nephews, and four great-grandnieces and nephew in addition to many cousins and friends.

Susan loved to watch her three grandchildren participate in their various activities and supported all their endeavors. She always wondered when the next concert was happening, and softball or baseball game was being played. She also enjoyed getting to know her brother and his children and looked forward to the Black Family Zoom meetings.

A funeral will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11 am with visitation with family and friends beginning at 10 am.

I enjoyed working with Susan at PNC and going to dinner with her. We enjoyed watching the Twilight series with her at her daughter's home. We shared many good memories together.
