Steven A. Stoner

October 7, 1957February 24, 2021

Steven A. Stoner, 63, of Dillsburg, entered into his heavenly home on February 24, 2021 from the Thornwald Home in Carlisle.

He was born October 7, 1957, in Hummelstown, and was a son of Arthur “Buzz” and Merriel F. Stoner. He is also survived by his sister, Gwen Shuff.

Steve was a member of the Hope Grace Church of Dillsburg. He had a love of Jesus his Savior, and was loved by many here at home and Grape Hammock Park, Lake Wales, Florida. He liked to mow our grass, keep our workshop clean, and run his 4-wheeler over our woods trails. What he enjoyed most was fishing with his dad or anyone who would take him.

He was a member of the Overview Fish Club for many years with his dad. He won two bass tournaments the club held on the river. He also loved to fish for largemouth bass on Kissimmee Lake where he caught two over 10lbs. His fish in the above picture weighed 10 lbs 4 oz, and was 25 inches long. NASCAR was his favorite sport while Jeff Gordon was racing. He enjoyed collecting toy cars and trucks, and painting bird houses and pictures of various scenes that came to his mind.

We thank the good Lord for giving us Steve and all the good memories we have of him. He will be missed by all.

A memorial service will be held at a later date for him.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shady Hammock Baptist Church, P.O. Box 7459, Indian Lake Estates, FL 33855.

I have known Steve for a long time. He had an infectious smile and was one of the friendliest people I have known. He loved to give his dad a hard time and was always willing to banter about who was the better fisherman. Typically, he was right & carried pictures of his fish to prove it. Most of all...he loved Jesus. We will miss you Steve, but at the same time, we are comforted in knowing that you will see Jesus face-to-face for eternity. Thank you for blessing me and for providing many sweet memories to the people at Hope Grace Church!!

Always loved seeing your joyful smile at church. I also enjoyed your artwork when it was displayed. I look forward to seeing you someday with Jesus. Becky Duncan
