Mr. Lee M. Seibert
February 15, 1950 – July 25, 2021
Lee M. Seibert, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021, at the age of 71. Born February 15, 1950, in Altoona, PA, he was a son of Marjorie A. (Martin) Seibert and the late Charles J. Seibert, Jr. He grew up in Hummelstown, PA. He graduated from Lower Dauphin Jointure School District in 1968 and attended Virginia Military Institute, graduating in 1972 with a BA I History where he was on an athletic scholarship.
Lee spent three years in the United States Army, Field Artillery (1972-1975) where he served at Ft. Dix, Ft. Sill, and in South Korea, Battery “C” 2nd Battalion (Hawk) 71st ADA, 38th BDE ADA in Pobwnoni. He was honorably discharged with the rank of First Lieutenant.
Lee then attended Central State University in Edmond, OK, where he obtained a Med in Junior College Instruction (1975-1976) and a MA in Southwestern Studies (1984). Beginning in 1976, he taught in the Midwest City-Del City School District in OK, the Mustang School District (1977-1984) in OK, the Derry Township School District (1985) in PA, and the East Pennsboro Area School District (1985-2014) in PA. He was an athlete who excelled at playing basketball, track and field, and cross-country. He truly enjoyed teaching history, leadership, and service to one’s community and hopefully had a positive impact upon his students. He enjoyed playing trivia, pinochle, board games, working in his courtyard, and spending time with his friends, former students, family, granddaughters, and volunteering at his church and within his community.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lynn M. Seibert. He is survived by his mother; sister, Leslie A.; son, Todd H. (Erin); granddaughters, Skylar M. and Lyla S.; daughter, Heidi N.; and sister-in-law, Kathleen Snavely-Seibert.
Lee attended Emmanuel UMC, 22 Salt Road, Enola, PA, where a memorial service will be held in his remembrance on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 11AM.
