Donald C. Osman

Donald C. Osman, 82, of Camp Hill, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2013. He was born Nov 15, 1930 in Wiconisco to J. Marlin and Myrtle (Hoffman) Osman. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by daughter, Janice Lynn; brothers, Jack and Edward; and sisters, Belle Osman and Ethyl Alvord.
He was enlisted in the 1st Calvary US Army where he served in Korea. He was nominated as Honor Guard for the United Nations. He was proud to serve his country and received many metals for his service.
Don retired from Defense Depot, Mechanicsburg, PA in 1989 as a Machine Tool Repair Foreman. His many hobbies included spending time with his family, gardening, and traveling in the US and abroad. He received many trophies and ribbons running in marathons, ultra marathons and many 50-100 mile trail runs. Don surpassed his goal of running a marathon in every state by competing in many countries.
Don is survived by his wife of 60 yrs, Frances (Begani) Osman; his children, David (Carol) of Palmyra, Steven (Dorothy) of Lewisberry, Jeanine (Arney Spandler) of Mechanicsburg, and Donna Hartman (Greg) of Etters; the pride and joy of his life, his grandchildren, Jordan Kulisch (Christina), Joshua Osman, Katie Schultz Dunn (Corey), Augusta Spandler, Dustin, Brenden, Emily, and Olivia Hartman; and his great granddaughters, Jade and Brooklyn Kulisch; his siblings, Gene Osman of Colorado, Jay Osman of Landisburg, Joan Stahl of Florida, and Carole Jordan of Texas.
A memorial service was held Friday, June 28, 2013. Internment took place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donald's name to Sacred Heart of Jesus, 558 West Walnut Street, Lancaster, PA 17603.
