Vaughn Gene Skoog, 84, passed away on April 13, 2025. He was the kind and loving husband of Teresa Ann Skoog, to whom he was married for 56 years, and the son of the late Joel Skoog and Alma H. Skoog.
Growing up in the towns of Colby and Prentice, Wisconsin, Vaughn had a love of the outdoors and spent much of his time hunting and fishing. He joined the Navy in 1962 and spent 6 years serving aboard submarines and destroyers. He was proud of his service and very thankful for what the Department of Veterans Affairs provided him later in life.
He married Teresa in 1966 and together they settled in Boyertown. Together they built a home, working hard to landscape and add to the property throughout the years. Vaughn worked as a draftsman and designer for Gilberts Associates in Reading, Technicon in Oley and Vortec Corporation in Collegeville.
Vaughn loved woodworking, restoring classic and antique cars, and collecting a variety of antiques, from furniture to tools to book ends. He loved going to Jake’s Flea Market on Saturdays to add to his collections and visit with friends. He was an avid reader and amassed a library of several thousand books. When he found a great book, he loved to pass it along to others.
He is survived by his children Shawn M. Skoog (Kristie Skoog) and grandsons Kody and Tanner Skoog of Bechtelsville, and Sonya Y. Skoog (John Tipping) of Waldo, ME.
