In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to Willow Tree Hospice Care, 616 East Cypress Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348. Born in Newark, N.J. (son of Norman and Rose Cogliati), Norm grew up in Short Hills, NJ. Norm was an outstanding high school multi-sport athlete including football at Newark Academy and Our Lady of Good Counsel. Following high school, Norm attended Fairleigh Dickinson University, majoring in Accounting and Business Management playing soccer, basketball and was one of the founding members of the Farleigh Dickinson Men’s Lacrosse Club. He was also the President of the Fairleigh Dickinson Varsity Club. Norm was a public accountant out of school and then a marketing/sales executive, top sales performer, at IBM for many years. He was also a longtime business professional and entrepreneur, Norm built multiple successful businesses. Growing up with sports, Norm was always the coach of his kids youth teams, logging championships along the way. Even after coaching, he stayed with sports and was a long-time high school football Referee (52 years) in the tri-state area. Most recently as a member of the Norristown and Suburban Football officials’ associations. He officiated with many different crews, including his oldest son N.J., and really enjoyed Thanksgiving Game Day breakfast crew meetings and time with his fellow officials. Norm’s other passions were restoring antique cars and DIY projects inside and outside of the house. Working with his hands and having help from his kids, he passed down his knowledge and craft for fixing things. One of his favorite antique projects, was his 56’ Chevy convertible, which he proudly showcased many 1st place trophies. The Jersey shore was always a favorite of his. Growing up, his grandparents had a home in Lavallette New Jersey, and continued to visit the many shore points with his wife, his kids and grandkids. There was always something to learn from Norm that he could teach you and after you spent time with him, you were left wanting to learn more. He was a man of many talents and a legacy that lives on throughout his extended family. He will be greatly missed. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cremationofpennsylvania.com/location/king-of-prussia-pa for the Cogliati family.
