Laura Mary LaChance
January 14, 1937 – May 12, 2021
Laura “Laurie” Mary LaChance, age 84, of Oxford, PA passed away on May 12, 2021 at Ware Presbyterian Village. Previous to Oxford, PA, Laurie was a longtime resident of Waterbury, CT. She was the wife of the late Frank (Bunny) LaChance with whom she shared 45 years of marriage.
Born January 14, 1937, in Waterbury, CT, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Mary Neidmann. Laurie was a graduate of Wilby High School.
Laurie retired from Sears Roebuck and Co. where she worked for over 33 years. Laurie’s greatest joy were her children and grandchildren. She loved spending summers at Milford Beach with her family and friends. Laurie was a selfless person, taking care of everyone before herself. Her love and loyalty was a true treasure to all who were blessed to have known her.
Surviving are: Sons Frank LaChance (Janet) of Chadds Ford, PA, Gary LaChance, of Waterbury, CT, Jeffrey LaChance, (Axita) of Cleveland, TN, and daughter Michele Smith, (Randy) of Thomaston, CT, grandchildren, Lindsey (Tim), Taylor, Julia, Gabriele, Erin, Brendan, Lauren (Eric) and great-grandchildren, Emma, Lacey and Gia, and sisters Patricia Place of Watertown, CT and RoseMary Quadrato of Watertown, CT.
In addition to her parents and husband, Laurie was predeceased by her brother Carl Neidmann, sister-in-law Grace Neidmann, brothers-in-law Matthew Place and John Quadrato, and grandson, Andrew LaChance.
A memorial service will be held on June 11, 2021 with Mass at 11am at Sts. Peter & Paul Church with Rev. John Lavorgna officiating. Inurnment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. Contributions in Laurie’s memory may be made to the WPV Resident Council EAF of Ware Presbyterian Village, 7 E. Locust St., Oxford, PA 19363 or the Alzheimer’s Association. The family wishes to extend our sincere appreciation for the care Laurie received from the staff at Ware and Willow Tree Hospice. Laurie was blessed by their loving care and kindnesses.
