James G. Jacketti

January 2, 1957September 12, 2021

James G. Jacketti passed away on September 12, 2021. He was born on January 2, 1957 in Passaic, NJ. He was the son of Pasquale J. Jacketti, Jr. and Shirley (Kutz) Jacketti. He is survived by wife Rebecca (Grant), his son James Pasquale, and his stepchildren Morgan and Seth.

Jimmy graduated from Juanita College as a Bio/Chemistry major. He had a long career in medical software sales. He was a great salesman and traveled all over the world for his work.

He loved sports of every kind, especially the Philadelphia Eagles. He spent many football seasons at the Linc, FLY EAGLES FLY. He was an avid golfer, playing on many courses throughout the world. He even golfed on his honeymoon. Even though Jimmy constantly traveled for work, he also traveled for pleasure. He spent a lot of time in many wonderful resorts and enjoyed his vacation home at Lake Wallenpaupack. He was especially fond of the Jersey shore, enjoying the beach, boardwalk and pool.

A passion for food brought Jimmy and his best friend, Scott Cooper to many restaurants all over the North East. Recently they had a wonderful meal at Ooka in the midst of his cancer treatment. It was always fun to listen to his latest critique of the food and establishment.

The light of Jimmy’s life was his son, JP. They spent many wonderful weekends in Hersey, Pa where J P is a freshman in High School. At home they were both followed faithfully by Jim’s canine campion Rosie.

Jimmy will be missed by his family and friends. His passionate Facebook comments will be remembered. He loved to stir any pot and get a heated conversation started.

Funeral Mass and Internment will be private.

Even though Jimmy and I didn't always agree on politics, he was a great guy at heart and honestly I always got along with him and only have great memories of him and hanging out at Traxx in Colmar. Rest in peace my brother and God bless you and your family

Our NJ and Pa families spent so much time together growing up. Jim was like a brother. Several times a year our families would get together. We slept on mattresses on the floor or even a box spring. (Way before the invention of an air mattress! ) One if my most vivid memories Is when he knocked his front teeth up into his gums falling off our back stoop. Hitting his teeth on the concrete! Very traumatic at the time. He healed but my mind forever recalls the incident.
We had so much love between our families. His parents , my Godparents were such great people. I loved them both dearly. As we got older we didn’t see each other as much but when we did it was like we never missed a beat. My love to all the family. Hugs to Patti and Gary. Prayers to the family. Jim will be greatly missed.
