Born on May 20, 1999, in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, George was the beloved son of David Kriebel and Susan Standbridge Kriebel. He was the cherished brother of Thea, Emma, Charlie, Ellie, and Audrey, each of whom shared a special bond with him that will never be forgotten.
From an early age, George was shy, lovable, and endlessly curious. He found joy in the outdoors, whether it was camping, going to the beach, or simply being surrounded by family—immediate and extended. His childhood was full of Cub Scouts adventures, baseball “attempts”, and close-knit family moments. He especially shared a mischievous and playful connection with his sister Emma in his early years, and a lifelong brotherly bond with Charlie, his partner-in-crime and best friend.
As a teenager, George formed deep friendships in our neighborhood, becoming known for his love of BMX biking, skateboarding, and music. He learned to play guitar and later taught himself piano, developing a love for collecting vinyl records and sharing his passion with others. He spent countless memorable hours biking with friends and exploring the city with Emma, always seeking out laughter and adventure.
George graduated from North Penn High School and went on to earn his Associate’s degree. He followed in his father's footsteps by entering the IT field, working first at Island Networks and later at The Information Lab, where he evolved into a dedicated and skilled DevOps engineer. Known for his tenacity and strong work ethic, George never hesitated to go the extra mile to solve problems. He built lasting relationships with coworkers and was always willing to help others.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, George and his father built a backyard fire pit so friends could gather safely. He quickly became known as the “fire master,” sparking not just fires but unforgettable weekends with his friends, often fueled—literally—by old Christmas trees and shared laughter.
George was a deep thinker with an unforgettable laugh and a generous heart. He was named after his late Pop-Pop Standbridge, with whom he shared a special bond. He cared deeply for those around him, whether it was watching out for his younger sisters, caring for his mother and his beloved Mom-Mom Standbridge, or checking in regularly with his Grandmom and Poppy Kriebel. He had a rare ability to connect with anyone and leave them smiling.
George’s presence lit up every room he entered. He will be remembered for his kindness, creativity, wit, and unwavering love for family and friends. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of George’s life will be held on Friday May 9th, 2025, at The Church of the Messiah, 1001 Dekalb Pike, Lower Gwynedd, PA. 10am visitation followed by an 11am service and a celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to NAMI Montgomery County, PA (https://namimontcopa.org/get-involved/donate/) in George’s memory.
