Carol Lourea-Black passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024 with her beloved husband and daughter by her side. Born on May 19, 1943, she was 81 years old.
Carol was a loving wife to Darryle and a devoted mother to Jennifer. She spent her working life as a bank teller and teller trainer and as a supervisor at the University of Pennsylvania Morris Arboretum Gardens. When she was not working, she enjoyed cooking, reading, spending time with her friends and family, whom she cherished, and enjoying nature, whether it be in the mountains, on the beach, or at the zoo.
Along with her husband of 29 years, Darryle Lourea-Black, and her daughter Jennifer Hankey, Carol is survived by her son-in-law, brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Lizzette Schweppenheiser, brother Ronald Irons, and sister-in-law Deena Belikoff.
Services will be held in the spring of 2025. Details to be announced at a later date.
