Shawnise N. Robinson

Shawnise Nykole Robinson affectionately known as “Mama” entered peacefully into eternal rest on January 4, 2025, at Harrisburg Hospital with her mother and father, as well as a family friend by her bedside.

Shawnise was born in Harrisburg and received her formal education from the Harrisburg City School District. She had an infectious smile, as you could find her taking the children to school, or on public transportation heading to an appointment. Shawnise enjoyed spending time interacting with her children, listening to music, shopping, and cooking for her family. Shawnise could be heard saying being a mother is the best job in the world.

She was predeceased in death by her maternal grandmother, Conyus Knight, maternal grandfather Ralph Wright, paternal grandfather, James W. Robinson, Sr., aunt, Delphine Rowland, and stepbrother, Brandon Rivers.

Shawnise leaves to mourn her two sons Braysen Robinson and JuShawn McQuay, and daughter Shaleeah McQuay; her mother, Eleanor Knight, all of Harrisburg; her father Shawn Robinson (Charnel), of Highspire; paternal grandmother, Frances Robinson, aunts, Dianne “Bumble” Knight and Toni Robinson, of Harrisburg; aunt, Angela Moses (Antonio), of Charlotte, NC; five uncles, Timothy Morrison (Evelyn), James W. Robinson, Jr., Keith Robinson, all of Harrisburg, Craig Robinson (Ella), of Augusta, GA, Peter Easter (Shera), of Albany, NY; one brother, Sheldon Knight, three sisters, Shannon Robinson, Shaniya Robinson, all of Harrisburg, Jailynn Robinson, of Arlington, VA; two stepsisters, Chanita Bryant, of Berkeley, CA, and Faith Bryant, of Charlotte, NC; two nephews, ZyJuan Knight and Jayion Reynolds, both of Harrisburg, as well as a host of other family members.
