Richard Louis Parr Jr.

Born October 29, 1940, he was the son of the late Richard and Dorthy Parr Sr. Dick was a graduate of the first graduating class of Steelton-Highspire School. He retired from Butter Krust (Holsum) Bakery and Jack Williams Tire. He worked part-time at Steve Shannon Tire. Dick enjoyed watching old Western TV shows/movies, traveling, camping, and going to Williamsport, PA for the Little League World Series every year with his wife Charlene.

Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Charlene (Basore) Parr; stepdaughter, Jennifer Specht; stepson, David (Kia) Harren; 5 grandchildren, Derek, Taylor, Jodi (Sydney), Kyle, Brody; 5 great-grandchildren, Eli, Mallory, Parker, Rowan, and Weston; 2 brothers, Thomas (Joy) Parr, Kenneth (Gerry) Parr;1 sister, Nancy (Amos) Sweigard. In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by a sister Bonnie Wagner; a brother Andy Parr; a stepson, Thomas Specht; and a daughter-in- law, Brenda Harren

The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at Gentiva Hospice for their kindness. As per Dick’s wishes, no services will be held.
